Scott M. Anderson, FACI, began his term as the 103rd President of the American Concrete Institute at the conclusion of the ACI Concrete Convention – Spring 2026 in Rosemont/Chicago, IL. Anderson serves as Vice President and General Manager of Keystone Structural Concrete in Houston, TX, where he has overseen elevated concrete construction since 1999. With more than 35 years of experience, his career has focused on concrete structures and complex specialty projects.

Anderson’s interest in infrastructure began early, growing up outside New York City and wondering how buildings, roads, and bridges were built to last. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo and a master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, he worked at the Phil Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory under the mentorship of Ramón Carrasquillo, who introduced him to ACI and helped shape his connection to the concrete industry.

After early career experience in offshore structures and excavation support systems, Anderson joined Keystone Concrete in Houston, beginning what became a long-term professional home. Since joining the company in 1999, he has helped lead its growth and technical expertise, overseeing large-scale projects including high-rise residential and office towers, healthcare facilities, institutional structures, parking garages, and other challenging concrete structures.

One recent signature project under Anderson’s leadership was the Methodist Hospital System Centennial Tower in the Texas Medical Center. The 30-story hospital tower included a 45 ft corner cantilever concrete transfer girder supporting 20 stories above and three stories below. Because the ground beneath the cantilever needed to remain accessible for utility repairs, the team developed a custom structural steel triangular truss to support the girder during construction.

Anderson has also made significant contributions to ACI and the broader concrete industry. He has served on several ACI committees, including the Construction Liaison Committee, Committee E703, Committee 134, and Joint ACI-ASCC Committee 117. He was named a Fellow of the Institute in 2015 and served on the ACI Board of Direction from 2020 to 2023.

Beyond ACI, Anderson has been active with the American Society of Concrete Contractors, serving on its Board of Directors since 2007, as ASCC President from 2015 to 2017, and currently as President of the ASCC Education, Research & Development Foundation. His industry leadership has earned recognition, including being named one of the “Most Influential People in Concrete Construction” in 2018.

As ACI President, Anderson plans to focus on three priorities: constructability and practicality, resilience, and people. Guided by ACI’s Strategic Plan, he emphasized the importance of keeping the Institute aligned, focused, and positioned to continue advancing concrete knowledge and practice worldwide.
