Field Grade 1

No. There are no reservations. Applications will not be accepted unless payment is included and received. Registrants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis only when the application and payment are received.
No. The American Concrete Institute is a separate membership from ACI Carolinas Chapter. To qualify for the member rate, you must be a member of ACI Carolinas Chapter.
It is the responsibility of the person who signs up for the corporate membership to notify the people in their company that they are a corporate member.
For Field Grade I certification, workbooks and location information will be sent soon after you have registered, and payment has been received and processed. This typically takes up to 2 to 3 weeks after the registration process.
There is a refund policy for cancellations. Notify Mary Beare regarding all cancellations. If the cancellation is made 11 or more business days before the first day of the session for which you are registered, you will receive a refund of the cost of the exam minus a $200 fee for the cost of the book, access code, and processing fee. If you notify Mary between 10 and 6 business days prior to the first day of the session, your refund will be $150. If you notify Mary of the cancellation 5 or less business days before the session, there is no refund.

Yes, as only if you notify Mary Beare before the session. Provide the name of the person who will not be attending and the name of the person who is taking their place.

Provided you are requesting the transfer 11 days or more before the first day of the session for which you originally registered, your registration may be transferred if there is space available in the session you want to transfer to.  You. must contact Mary Beare to request the transfer. If space is not available in any of the remaining sessions, you will be given the opportunity to go onto the Waiting List for the next group of sessions, or a refund will be provided. The refund will be $200 less from the original cost since the workbook and access code have been sent.
Re-certifications require taking the full session (written and performance exams) at the same cost as the full session.
All exams are sent to the American Concrete Institute (ACI) for processing. ACI grades the exams and notifies each student using the information provided by the student at the time of testing. Turn-around time is generally approximately 3 weeks but can vary. Contact ACI at www.concrete.org or at 248.848.3700 to find out the status of your certification.
Upon receiving your results from the American Concrete Institute stating the exams you have failed, you have 1 year from the date of the original exams to retake the exams (additional payment required). You may register to retake an exam in one of the remaining sessions, provided there is space available in the remaining sessions. The ACI Carolinas Chapter website indicates under “Certification Programs” if there are spaces available at any of the remaining sessions. If there are no spaces available, you will have to register for the next series of sessions when scheduled (either Spring or Fall).

Recertification for Field Grade 1

Recertifications require taking the full session (written and performance exams) at the same cost as the full session. See Field Grade I as a reference for all questions.
No. On the date your certification expires, as per the American Concrete Institute policy, you are no longer certified until you retake the written and performance exams and receive a passing grade.

Membership

ACI Carolinas Chapter membership follows the calendar year. Membership begins on January 1 and ends on December 31 of each year.
No. American Concrete Institute membership is separate from an ACI Carolinas Chapter membership. To qualify for the Chapter member rate, you must be a member of ACI Carolinas Chapter.

You may join ACI Carolinas Chapter using the website’s Membership Page, select the desired membership level, complete the required information and provide payment via credit card. Alternatively, you may download the membership application and return the application with payment via mail to the Carolinas Chapter mailing address.

Yes. Once you have first completed the registration for membership, you can then register for certification sessions and/or seminars.

Certifications Other Than Field Grade 1

Certifications other than Field Grade I are offered on an individual basis. Once registration and payment are received, the examiner will be contacted to determine the date, time, and location to administer the exams. All registrations are listed on the website’s Certification Page. A list of exams offered by the Chapter will appear. Choose the certification of interest and proceed with registration.
Written retests are offered on an individual basis.  Contact Mary Beare with the written retest you would like to register for. A special section will be set up on the website for this registration and payment. You will then receive instructions on how to pay for the exam. Once payment is received, the examiner will be contacted to determine the date, time, and location to administer the written exam.

The cost includes workbooks for some certifications, but not all. Go to the certification listed for more information. The certification details will indicate whether a workbook is included.

Workbooks not included in the cost of the certification can be purchased directly from the American Concrete Institute through their website www.concrete.org or by calling them at 248-848-3700.
