The American Concrete Institute (ACI) continued to strengthen its international engagement at the 2026 Italian Concrete Conference (ICC 2026), held June 24-26 in Bergamo, Italy. Organized by AICAP and CTE, the conference brought together industry leaders and technical organizations to discuss the future of concrete construction and structural engineering.

Representing ACI, President Scott Anderson participated in a featured roundtable discussion titled The Global Scenario: Present and Future. He participated with Iria Lícia Oliva Doniak, president of the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib); Camillo Nuti, president of AICAP; and Enrico Nusiner, president of CTE. During the session, Anderson shared a global perspective on the current state of the concrete industry, highlighting key trends in innovation, resilience, workforce development, and international collaboration.

The conference theme, Concrete Structures: Opportunities and New Challenges, focused on the evolving role of concrete as a modern, sustainable, and strategic material for the future of construction. ICC 2026 attracted professionals from across academia, industry, government, and technical associations, creating a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and networking.
